Why Women are like Spaghetti

My wife and I have been married for 17 years now.
One might think that after all these years we might have each other figured each other out completely, but I have come to the realization that it is a life long process in learning to love each other more than the day before.

The fact is that men and women are totally different and the book, Men are like Waffles Women are like Spaghetti, by Bill and Pam Farrel, explains some of those differences in a unique way.

In the last post I explained why men are like waffles.

Why women are like spaghetti…

If you picture a plate of spaghetti, you see a bunch of noodles all loosely mingled together in a pile. Each noodle is an individual piece, but they are all interconnected because they touch one another and share multiple intersections.
If you follow the path of one noodle it will quickly lead you to another and another and another.

Unlike men, who live in one box at a time, women’s thought’s and actions are all interconnected and woven together. One thought or action can quickly lead to another and another.

A great example of this is when a women begins a conversation with her husband after they both finally get together after a long day at work or at home.

As she begins to talk about one thing her thoughts and topics of conversation will randomly shift from one thing to another and all kinds of ideas start coming out in a very short amount of time.
Once she starts the journey on one noodle, it is not over until all the noodles have been traveled.

The husband, sitting there listening, can quickly become overwhelmed and not sure how to handle it all. He is a problem solver by nature and may attempt to interrupt her with suggestions on how to handle this or that, but it is really best for the him to just be patient and listen in amazement as his wife somehow puts it all together in the end.

The book goes into much greater detail and explanations.
I highly recommend it.
